Re: Jack Booted thugs,

We've been told by the company that they have the right to examine any PC or any mainframe based files for Illegal/immoral activities. One guy was fired a few years back for having porno GIF's on his PC. I'm more than surpised that I've never been audited myself. In short, it's company equipment and company files and they have a perfect right to protect themselves from legal action. In short, there is not and never was any privacy on a company machine.

When the PC was 1st introduced you'll probably remember how clunky and difficult to use the mainframe apps were. If the change from PC to NC basically makes the GUI transparant then there PROBABLY won't be much complaining from the users. These days MIS is reasserting itself, I don't have the choices I used to have. Basically I have to use what the company gives me to do my work, and they're starting to ask some tough questions about what type of apps you REALLY use and the horse power to do it.
