No sorry, you're wrong. In fact, Bob Brinker was exceedingly cautious starting around June-July, and his constant recommendation was simply to dollar cost avg (buy the same $ amt every month) into the market. If people called his show and said they had come into some money to invest, he said to NOT just go out and buy stock. That's because he didn't have a "buy" on the market, but a "dollar cost avg into it" due to the high valuation. He is bullish longterm yes, for good reason. Seems to me that the major indexes finished the year 1997 up over 20%. Seems like a good return to me.

As I said, the last time Bob Brinker had a "buy" (meaning if you have money, put it all to work in stocks, with no more than 4% of total in any one stock) on the market (and right now he says it's only a buy with Dow below 7500) was April 1997.
