Red Herring article on educational software startup This month's Red Herring has an article called, "Play Learning". It's about a new company that is developing educational software for the Sony Playstation. They're expecting the PlayStation to include a modem next year, so there's a web component. I found it interesting because I've associated PlayStation with games, not serious apps. They chose the PlayStation because they wanted to provide a low-cost solution that all the kids in a class can use (U.S. market, not Third World). The apps aren't any good if only the rich kids in class can afford the software.
