Here you go Tero & others -: Northern Telecom to Build Shaanxi CDMA Net BEIJING -- Northern Telecom of Canada and Shaanxi province have reached an agreement on a new digital mobile telephone network in Xian, the provincial capital. According to the agreement, Nortel will supply the province with code division multiple access, or CDMA, network equipment, including a DMS-MTX mobile switching machine, a base station controller and 12 base stations. The network will initially have a switching capacity of 13,000 access channels, and the number will later expand to 50,000. China is building trial CDMA networks in the cities of Xian, Beijing and Guangzhou. Xinhua News Agency - 08/05/97
