Good preppers know it's not a good idea to let friends, neighbors, or anyone, really, know how well prepared they are, because everyone else is a potential Mad Max after the collapse.

The more preppers isolate themselves, the further they separate themselves from reality.
Prepper's "preparations" steer them toward needing civilization to collapse, and searching for confirmation it is imminent, the sooner the better, just to prove they're not wrong.
And, in a sense, by making such a huge commitment to purchasing and storing mass quantities of firearms, ammunition, bulk foods, equipment, water, filters, building bunkers, etc., preppers have already collapsed their own civilization. |
