This is exactly what I said. TELSTAR 5 has that capacity--I said nothing about Skybridge in that post.

You're right. The window expired while I was trying to correct that message.

Apologies for the miscalculation. If we wanted to compare capacity of the systems we'd have to get more information than the high level numbers from their websites.

Now that we numbers, its clear that Skybridge fits all the criteria for the market that I was advocating they fill. So, they will be completely able to compete with Teledesic and will beat them to market to boot.

I hope my comments about the need for LEOs and the size/importance of this market are grokked. If T1 service can be sold for 1/8th what it costs now (say $187.50 a month) and Skybridge reaches %40 capacity (6 million users), it will be grossing $13.5B a year. If this is provided by LEO's it will be a very competitive last-mile solution.
