Yes, sure, but the Zip is hardly the size of an old 8 track. Remember, Beta was better than VHS, but nobody bought Beta because all their friends had VHS, so they couldn't swap tapes if they bought Beta. Somewhat similar situation here, except that it isn't so clear which is better. LS-120 disk is smaller, capacity is higher, and it's backwardly compatible. On the other hand Zip drives are less complex, therefore less expensive, and they are much faster. And, of course, there are over two million of them in use already.

You may draw your own conclusions.

As a general comment, on a different topic, I'd like to say that while I do agree that many securities analysts have less understanding of the computer business than those of us who are actually in it, it is also true that they know a lot more about the stock market than many of us technoids. I think we could all learn from each other.
