Sudan stuff was in late '70's, ages ago; I went into Beijing immediately after Tienanmen, it wasn't dangerous, just really creepy. I never actually went into Sarajevo and Srebenica, just ran around all over the place trying to get them stuff before everything fell apart, I was on the phone to them every day or so. I don't usually find myself actually at risk, although I really was in Sudan (sometimes I really wonder how I got out of there alive). My wife didn't know me then. She'd never let me go back and I have no desire to.
