With "cheap homes" on this side of the Bay anything under $1M and rent running worse as you can actually buy a home with cash and get a return better than a CD...... 20s and 30s find it hard to save, much less afford nice cars... hence the popularity of Zip Car, Lyft, Uber and the whole concept of a "sharing economy."

If I had the ability to "read my email" or post on SI while my car drove me to the store... I wonder if I'd give up the experience of sitting mostly at lights in my 300HP, Twin Turbo BMW X3 chuckling at the money I spent for the handling and performance package where I never use the paddle shifters or seldom use the tighter suspension and gas guzzling engine performance settings. I might find it give me more time to get stuff done...
