I drove through Northern WI last year during deer hunting season. Outside of Chicago I am used to seeing snowmen, possibly a Bears flag in people's front lawns. In Northern WI, there are dead deer in everyone's front lawn, hanging from trees upside down, gutted and bled.

Is that kind of like the old bedsheet after the first night of marital bliss tradition? Does that signify that a boy has finally reached manhood? Or is it that people are trying to show off their dead animals to their neighbors?

You know, most of these people had trees in the backyard....
