with a week to go before election day, greenspan knows his best chance of being reappointed lies in a gore victory. and the best chance of a gore victory lies in keeping the bubble afloat for another week so the sheeple don't get nervous. some of bush's big money friends resent the power of the fed, his re-appointment is by no means assured.

buying futures is a bit too obvious, so the old fallback of the printing press will work nicely!
