Regardless of how it is stated the reaction to the NVLS mid quarter update was a disaster to long investors in after hours trading. And it was a positive update.

It just does not matter.

These days it seems that the cup is indeed half empty not half full. Worse still it may be leaking because the cup is showing signs of cracking.

Point is I believe the market is going to sell off more no matter what anyone thinks. Volume is so light that the best we can hope for is that we find some stabilization before some inevitable catastrophe drives the market back to the September lows or probably lower.

Good guidance from numerous semiconductor companies was not enough to keep the SOX and NASDAQ moving higher. NVLS tonight was no different. It's sad too because semiconductor stocks are the very backbone of the NASDAQ these days. If the market does not begin to show some improvement soon we could end up with a massive sell off.

What positive catalysts are left but earnings growth?

Now earnings announcements are virtually over for 6 weeks.

Even then we found out this quarter that it simply does not matter if these companies are beating expectations because no one was willing to buy the stocks at a higher level than where they have been selling.

Oh sure that will change once the glass is half full again. If it doesn't break entirely.
