LOL!

I must be on the weird call list. Yesterday I got a call from someone claiming to be a US Government official holding a US Government grant for me. It was one of those calls that... instead of hanging up one just has to play along for a bit. We spoke for at least 3 or 4 minutes as he informed me that the details would be forthcoming via mail yada yada yada - please repeat that, please, I didn't quite understand you - yada yada yada and he verified my name, address, phone number and requested my bank account info so the money could be directly deposited into my account...

I tried so hard to keep from laughing during the call - until he asked for my bank name... then I couldn't help myself. I gave him my bank name in my best imitation of his heavy accent: "Me bink iz "Gofukyousselfashollebank."

Apparently that translated better than I intended. After two or three seconds of silence he hung up.

I'm not prejudiced against individuals with accents - I often find them charming, but, really! Who would be so stupid as to attempt such a silly scam, and then try to execute with an accent like an India based Dell tech support person or a Nigerian needing help to wire a huge inheritance out of his country?

TOO FUNNY!!!

(Apologies for the profanity - but sometimes it just fits...)
