Yes, and the Iraqi people elected Saddam and the Venezuelans elected Chavez and the Cubans elected Castro. The obvious point is that those elections are not really worth a damn, when freedom of choice doesn't really exist.

There were about 5 major candidates running for President of Iran in their last election. Ajamadid won - are you saying the election was fraudulent? I've read nothing along those lines.

Iran is more democratic that you seem to realize - they have an orderly transfer of Presidential power every 4-6 years, however long the term is. The President is not like Castro or Saddam who never give up power.
