To a large extent I agree, however, I have a friend in the industry who consultes with all the major co.s and he says that *everyone* is going NC crazy. All the co.s want to do one.
I can't figure this out either, but maybe they know something we don't. The commercial apps for NC's may be farther reaching than we imagine, such as airports, coffee houses, schools, and libraries. The devices, to us, seem strange--like public transportation (hell, I am not giving up my car & not my PC either!). But to the X% out their who do not even own a PC (you know, the kind that buys those Cannon word processors) and is not about to "experiment" with a PC for $2000, the NC may be a viable and attractive alternative. I doubt that any veterans like us would buy them, but what do these other folks know about JAVA, VRML, memory, video, etc. They just want to "surf."
