Hi, Alexa!!

Of course I value your opinion!!! Thanks for sharing it. As I have said many times, I have many Christian friends, and I am glad for them that they have something which comforts and sustains them. I have always been honored that Shalom prayed for me, because I know that for him, it is a thoughtful and generous gesture.

Religious beliefs are so divisive that I just hoped I could create a place where non-Christians could feel comfortable. It is endlessly amazing to me that in America, everyone assumes everyone else is Christian automatically. I just wanted to raise the collective consciousness--there are people who are not only non-Christian, but so offended by the prejudices they have experienced, that any reference to, or assumptions of, Christian beliefs offends them.

I don't want to blackball anyone who is respectful of differing beliefs, and willing to discuss religion in an open way. Just please don't assume I have any particular beliefs, or try to convert me to yours!!

I want people to be who they are, and feel safe to express that here. It is the whole point of the Feelings thread. I don't want to offend anyone, or fight here. I hope the people who assume I would be a better person if only I were Christian, will also respect that paganism is a beautiful belief-set as well, and be open-minded in the same way I try to be.

Thanks, Alexa!!

Christine
