I know. But a bright line has been breached by the camel's nose.

Doesn't is strike you as, er, bizarre/hypocritical/audacious for conservatives, who have a monumental distaste for affirmative action, allegedly in principle, would even think of looking for it for themselves? And taking on the mantle of the victims, which is inherent in calling for affirmative action. It boggles my mind.

The other part of this issue that fascinates me is the label. Labels are important, as we know. Calling it "intellectual diversity" rather than "political diversity," is... Well, I can't imagine what that might be, what would provoke that usage. It's like calling a chocolate cake a wheelbarrow. There are different kinds of intelligence already categorized. One of them is most definitely not "conservative."

I am just fascinated by this issue. I'd love to find something on how the initiative came about. Particularly how it got that label.
