Unix workstations, in trading firms, are dying animals. Their softwares are too expensive nnd develpment cycles are too long, compares to Windows/NT. According my souces, People are slowly moving from Sybase to SQL server for back end, and front end to Power Builder / VB / ACCESS / EXCEL( YES! EXCEL using VBA).
