I don't know anything about this specific box, but the people I have spoken with at CUBE are very open about how disappointing the set top box business has been, and how they need to do better in that arena. I asked one of the people in charge of selling the set top chips if these boxes could do everything we've heard they should do for the $300 goal TCI set. His answer was no. He said CUBE's approach right now is with a simple chip with just a few functions, so they would be able to compete on price. He also mentioned that CUBE will introduce a new generation set top box chip soon.
