Robin - I was involved with the trial for AndroCar and would like to give you some details.

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in December of 1994 and my PSA at that time was 12. I was 56 years old at that time. Since my brother had died of this disease I was always very careful in getting checked out on a regular basis from the time I was 50. My PSA had ranged during that time from a low of 8 to a high of 13. All previous biopsies had been negative. (I wish I knew as much about biopsies then as I know now).

Due to another medical condition I chose cryosurgery (freezing of the prostate) over having my prostate gland removed.

Prior to the cryosurgery I was placed on hormone therapy and my PSA dropped to zero. After my cryosurgery on May 1, 1995 I went off the hormones. My subsequent PSA began to rise slowly and jumped from 0.75 to 1.75 between July and August 1996. Due to the fact that I still had some prostate tissue I would be expected to have some measurable PSA.

In August 1996 I started taking AndroCar. I was taking 2 capsules 3 times a day which I supposed to eventually increase to 9 capsules 3 times a day. Due to side effects I was not able to tolerate the maximum dose.

In October 1996 (taking 2 capsules 3 times a day) my PSA was measured at 0.48. Since that time my PSA has ranged from a high of 0.7 to a low of 0.45 which was my latest test results.

I don't know if my PSA dropped because of the AndroCar or not. And if it did whether or not it was because of its effect on cancer cells or whether it just blocked PSA.

I have had two biopsies with the results being negative but I am concerned about any possible cells that have escaped the prostate.

The trial lasted 3 to 4 months and I received an additional 3 month supply after the trial. Since I did not take the maximum amount of the herb I still have a quantity available.

I am concerned that the company has decided not to marktet AndroCar. I have tried to contact the company to determine whether it was possible to obtain an additional supply but they have not returned my calls. It appears that they have abandoned us.
