Detroit Free Press: Stimulus Created Or Saved NO JOBS!

Numbers made up out of whole cloth!

Stimulus program so good they have to lie about it.

And another story from an extremely liberal publication on the tails of other liberal rag mags:

The Sacramento Bee reporting a ton of bogus numbers (Surprise! Many California jobs 'saved' by stimulus funds weren't in jeopardy)

The Boston Globe reporting outright fraud (Boston Globe: Stimulus job boost in state *WILDLY* exaggerated)

The Las Vegas Sun reporting that Nevada jobs are fraudulent (More stimulus fraud: Nevada using "formula" rather than counting real jobs in stimulus "created or saved" jobs number)

The Columbus Dispatch in Ohio reports tha jobs listed as "saved" were never in danger in the first place (Salary raises, jobs not in danger counted as "created or saved" in stimulus numbers).

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel found that a report saying 10,000 jobs had been created or saved in Wisconsin was "rife with errors, double counting and inflated numbers."

So you have to know that the real number of fake jobs is likely significantly higher than reported. Enron jobs accounting has been going on ever since Obama switched from claims of jobs created, to jobs "created or saved." The latter gives bureaucrats ammunition to create false numbers out of whole cloth. For instance, raises have been couted as saved jobs. I kid you not! Worse yet, the administration has publicly defended such an absurd accounting:

“If I give you a raise, it is going to save a portion of your job,” HHS spokesman Luis Rosero said.

And on the tails of all the above liberal publications having to "out" dear leader in their own papers as a fraudster selling snake oil, comes the Detroit Free Press. A bit late to the game, but this is their analysis anyway: Billions for state, but where are jobs?

Seven months into the massive federal stimulus program, the vast majority of government grants, contracts and loans in Michigan so far have created or retained virtually no jobs, a Free Press analysis shows.

The analysis also revealed that others who have been promised or have received stimulus money have overstated -- in some cases greatly -- the number of jobs created or protected.

The Free Press examination of more than 1,800 government reports of those who have received or expect to receive stimulus money found the biggest impact was spurring or protecting public-sector or summer jobs -- not private-sector jobs. Michigan has the nation's worst unemployment rate.

And here are some results from the freep's analysis

• Three of every four stimulus grants, contracts and loans approved in Michigan created or retained one job or less.

• Fewer than 700 awards had received some money, and nearly half of those -- 327 -- had created one job or less, at a cost per job of $2.7 million.

• Some job estimates were wrong: General Motors Co., for instance, reported 105 jobs saved or created for a government purchase of 5,000 vehicles but later said no jobs were saved or created. The City of Detroit reported 342 jobs it now says were projections -- not jobs already created or retained.

This is outright fraud! I reported on the Michigan shenanigans before. Back in mid-October, the government released stimulus job numbers indicating that Michigan created or saved 397 jobs (Disaster: Hard Stimulus Data Reveals That Michigan "Saved Or Created" Only 397 Jobs For 620 Million Stimulus Dollars, FAR Short Of 19,500 Claim). That was just a few days after Granholm said the number was 19,500 (Enron accounting: Stimulus saved or created 19,500 jobs in Michigan). Recently, the claim was that in Michigan, 6 out of 10 mythical jobs were in education (News: Michigan Saved 397 Jobs From Stimulus, But 13,600 Of Those Were In Education Or Something).

Recall that Obama promised 3.5 million jobs in 2009, but instead the U.S. has lost 2.7 million. So Obama has 6 million jobs to account for. The Obama numbers were adjusted upwards with claims now running at about 600,000 jobs saved or created. But those numbers were found to be largely fraudulent (Hyperinflation is here! AP: Feds overstated stimulus jobs by thousands). The White House has, however, hunkered down on the false numbers (Blue On Blue: Obama Blasts AP For Reporting That Stimulus Jobs Way Overblown). Here's Obama parroting the lie, and increasing the numbers even more:

Obama has duped the American people into throwing $1 trillion into the toilet.
