I don't get it. I checked off "hero" and it said that was from Maine. I've lived in the NYC/LI area all of my life except when in the service and we use "hero." I didn't see "tonic" as a choice for soda, pop etc. It was a term my cousin used in the Boston area when we were kids. Maybe it's no longer used in the Boston area or anywhere else for that matter. Then again, maybe my cousins family was the only one that used that term.
