IOM [Iomega] CEO, James Sierk, on CNBC Tues. Will he show new CLIK drive? He is scheduled to discuss a "new alliance."

It is agreed by most that the only thing that will send IOM back to its highs, is an exciting new product. The CLIK disk just may be that item, in my opinion. It is a tiny 40meg disk designed for removable data storage for very small computer systems.

The obvious uses first come to mind, such as Digital Cameras [pop in a CLIK disk and keep on shooting], Handheld PCs [Xybernaut and Irvine Sensors should embrace this], Notebooks [could become an industry standard]. Other uses could include Cellular phones, digital audio/music equipment [ZIP and JAZ disks are used throughout this industry], drives for full size PCs [for uploading data from handheld PCs, digital cameras, etc.], automobiles, household appliances, use your imagination...

Also, the ZIP and JAZ disks are hardly dead. The graphic arts industry uses ZIP as the standard small format removable [that's why they are in every KINKOS]. The JAZ is being built into many digital audio/music systems as an inexpensive means of high resolution data storage. Through SCSI, it is also offered as an add-on. These drives should continue to provide IOM with revenues well into the future.

Currently IOM is trading near it's 52-week low of 5 1/2. With the CEO on CNBC and with the CLIK being touted at the PC Expo 1998 in NYC next week, the environment is good for IOM to see some gains soon. The idea is to buy low, is it not?

~~~NOTE: Nothing herein constitutes a recommendation to buy or sell any stock. If you want advice, ask a licensed broker. These are my opinions. I bought a very small amount of IOM this morning at 5 7/8.
