West - just forget about the broad market at this point and take a step back for awhie. There are some individual stocks that will fall to oblivion. Check out GENI. I'm doing a lot of research into it and it is a wild story. A pump and dump operation with the largest shareholder being one of the largest - if not the largest - international arms dealer in the word. A boiler room company calling people and telling them to buy the stock. Its a complete scam that is being pumped up now and will eventually be a penny stock. Haven't been keeping up with the posts here and need to play catch up. Have had a busy and wild weekend. Busy researching GENI during the day.
