"A twisty maze of passages all alike." It's quite an interesting saga. MSFT standing on their heads to make things compatible for a giant, growing, and changing desktop base. No one else even attempted to solve this problem on anything close to the scale Windows did. Tragically, this type of information is light years beyond the comprehension of either Jackson or Klein.
