I agree, it's not a democracy. And I'm not saying it should be. It's owned by a corporation whose officers and employees are free to do as they choose with it.

BUT, I paid money up front with certain expectations about what I would get. Those included the expectation that the rules would be applied consistently and fairly. I do not believe that was ever the case, and I believe that the situation has become much worse recently.

As a paid-up customer, I DO have the right to complain.

And they have the right to ignore the customer at their own peril.

FWIW, I already stated my opinion that SI DOESN'T value me as a customer, because they derive zero income from my lifetime, no-advertising membership. They'd just as soon have me and others like me leave. Kicking out well-known, long-term members of the community is a good way to achieve that goal.
