I bought a Compaq notebook from Egghead auction about 6 months ago. No problems. Plus they were polite and forthcoming on the phone. I like dealing with them because they have a reputation to protect.

Also, their customer service center is in Hood River, Oregon - a nice, relaxed decidedly non-urban social environment and near to my home.
