I'm afraid your wrong Ted. Over the years since the change, and over the whole state of FL (and in other states) that data support my side of the argument and comparing one 6 month period of one city (and only the 6th largest in FL or 87th largest in the country) isn't much of an argument against that point, esp. when the period in question is a 6 month period that occurred well over a decade after the relevant policy change ("shall issue CCPs") went in to effect.

Tim, the damn violent crime rate starting going up in 2005, two years ago, not six months ago. Its going up in FLA just like its going up in the rest of the country.......and not just Orlando. Orlando was just one example to show you that it was true.

As for your hypothesis that a 1988 concealed weapon law led to reduced crime in FLA during the 1990s might hold water except that the rest of the country experienced the same decline. But I understand that you want to believe so badly that some stupid pro gun legislation made all the difference in the world.

Such crap.....the NRA and all its little spins is such horrendous crap. People are dying in this country so that the NRA can have its way. Their blood is on the hands of the NRA and anyone who supports them.
