Mega - Lobster Saved From the Pot

LONDON (AP) -- The chef at London's Kaspia restaurant, amazed to find a
whopping 3-foot lobster in the day's seafood delivery, took mercy on the
creature and decided he belonged in an aquarium, not a kitchen pot.

``This thing was like a battleship -- covered in barnacles and whelks,'' head chef
William Cooper said Wednesday. ``And to be honest with you, it was far too big
and I was obviously quite in a good mood ..., so I felt kind of sorry for him. I
stuck him in the fridge and phoned the aquarium.''

The lobster, which could be more than 60 years old, was caught off the coast of
Cornwall in southwest England and brought to London as part of the restaurant's
regular delivery.

``We don't normally see any near this size,'' said Elizabeth Downey of The
London Aquarium. ``The largest on record ... is one meter and six 6 centimeters
(3.5 feet), and he is very close to that. He is 98 1/2 centimeters (3.25 feet).''
