5/10/99 - Bank of France Not to Sell Gold <Picture> PARIS (May 10) XINHUA - France"s central bank, the Bank of France, does not plan to sell its gold as the Bank of England is doing, said the bank on Monday. The Bank of France said that its 1997 policy of not to sell gold "still remains valid." The president of Bundesbank Hans Tietmeyer said on Monday that no bank in Europe, apart from the Bank of England and the Swiss central bank, is going to sell gold. Enditem 10/05/99 14:28 GMT
