(((The news comes in the wake of Sierra Wireless Inc.'s recent acquisition of Qualcomm Inc.'s CDMA module line and indicates that an independent market for card-level modules using CDMA is emerging.)))

(((TI, PMC-Sierra snap up DSP firms in 3G cellular)))

QCOM continues to "shed" component markets that will be required to meet future demands.

((((Besides Japan, nobody is going to make money in 3G in the United States or Europe until about 2005," Strauss said.))))

Or is 2005 when they think they'll be ready to compete?

Alot of money gonna be made in Asia before 2005. And the U.S. as well.
