QUALCOMM's Steve Altman on 3G IPR

chapq,

<< My qualification was "'purportedly' justifiable". The justification is the review as laid out by what looks to me to be a worthy panel. >>

TBH, I haven't been back over that document for a bit. If Kearsey's book is ever available used at a reasonable price I'll probably order a copy but I've kind of overdosed on that general and specific subject matter in the past. Some good pulp fiction probably more in order.

<< Does this look like some degree of clarification to you, or unrepentant bs from Mr. Altman, or misinterpretation by Mr. Mullens? >>

Well, as you probably have observed, and although I'm hardly infallible I do try to be as accurate as I can be when posting, and if I post something in error I typically try to acknowledge I did so, and am generally appreciative if someone corrects one of my misfeasances, typos or whatever.

I listen to Steve Altman closely (but could only half listen today so will do another listen to his and the other presentations this weekend). He chooses words very carefully. My vocation which requires very careful listening, and focus particularly in contract negotiation with skilled executives and/or their corporate or contract counsel dictates that. I wouldn't ever refer to Altman as a bs'er and have high regard for him and his contributions to his company. He does require a careful listen. He is quite skilled and I was most pleased to see him ascend to his current position. Today's review of IP was probably appropriate and timely given those recent articles but I'll be interested to see how he performs in his new role and on other subjects.

Jim's post that you linked prompted me to ask a question about Jim's tag line to the individual that posted a copy of it on a board in another forum. That question is here:

Note my reference to PA Consulting. Good rep in the wireless IP field I am told, but I have no exposure directly.

Best,

- Eric -
