Unfortunately we're dealing with alternating four and three feet verse here, (actually iambic heptameter) so
"Water, water everywhere,
and not a drop to drink!" scans while
"Water, water everywhere,
nor any a drop to drink." doesn't.
But who are we to criticize and rewrite accomplished versifiers like Sam. He actually wrote
"Water, water everywhere,
nor any drop to drink," so you got most of the words right, but I still won by half a foot. A great lesson to both of us, I should think. Hope you're self-employed!
