UTEK CORPORATION ANNOUNCES INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING OF 1.0 MILLION SHARES OF COMMON STOCK AT $6 PER SHARE

Plant City, Fla. - - October 25, 2000 - - UTEK Corporation, Inc. (Nasdaq Small Cap: UTOB) announced today the initial public offering of 1,000,000 shares of its common stock at $6 per share effective October 25, 2000. The common stock has been approved to trade on the Nasdaq Small Cap Market under the symbol "UTOB." More than 80% of the net proceeds from the offering will be used to acquire, develop and transfer new technologies to the market.
