Lucius,

Re: Dragon Dictate or IBM ViaVoice or VoiceType

I'm curious about those using continuous speech recognition software.

With today's capabilities, what do you personally find it useful for?

What can you envision doing with it in the next 1-2 years?

How about in 5 years?

I was an early adopter on the cellular phone (1985 - $3500) and VCR (1980 - $1000 and still working well) - but not the computer. In its pre-286 incarnations, I believed at the time that it was too complex for me to take the time to figure out how to cope with it. I was too busy with other things then. In retrospect, I wish I had squeezed in the time and become computer literate years before I did, because a lot of problems that I had in business later, would have been alleviated and avoided had I done so. Long story.

Anyway, I recall how I felt using technology that was not yet widely used. I felt liberated in time and space.
