"GoldMoney is like online banking, but your account is denominated in goldgrams and mils, not dollars and cents."
goldmoney.com

They guarantee the physical gold/silver is there, so no need to worry about Wall Street paper shuffle tricks (like might occur with SLV/GLD).

U.S. accounts are linked to the automated clearinghouse for deposit/withdraw and it sounds like you can buy/sell gold online 24/7/365. They even have a monthly automatic savings plan.

I read in one 2006 article that there are 9 other gold-backed currency exchanges like Goldmoney.
Anyone here use Goldmoney or another like it?
Is there a down side to this type of account (other than they don't offer silver)?

Perth Mint offers gold & silver in coins/bullion, but it isn't like an online checking account.
