I think that we are all forgetting something very important:

1998 and beyond.

The telcos will look to COST and if DMT can deliver much more
upstream bandwidth and greater range (it doesnt have to be
more than 25% to be cost effective) than CAP, it will win out
based on economics. Based on my understanding of signal processing,
I don't see how CAP can ever win in the end. However, my rationale
is based on the premise that by the time mass deployment begins,
that DMT is not SUBSTANTIALLY (read >1.5times) more expensive than
CAP to deploy. I think that the telcos can make up the $ difference
w/range and bandwidth.
