I am sure Amati already received the RFP. It was sent out in July to 40 companies, even those that never announced an ADSL product. The issue isn't to get the RFP, but to be able to win a portion of the business.

Both USRX and ASND do DSP and have ISDN products. Now I am not an EE and can't tell you how much more difficult DSL would be, but I don't think either company would have difficulty hiring engineers from just about any company. Both companies have indicated they are working on it (especially ASND which had a whole team set up back in the spring).

Anyhow, the conference season is starting again and we should hear who is doing what by the end of the month.
