Lol, it's not politeness on the part of british columbians, it's that we're in the same boat, this is the Alta California of the g.w.n. and you couldn't get a mine going for love nor money near the populated areas of the province ... in the interior and up north it's a different story, at least now it is to some extent, under the NDP it was probably worse province-wide than California at the moment ... just absolutely anti-industry those people, and they may come back, something over a third of the population always votes for them
Sutter is actually permitted already to a degree, and in an historic mining area, they're considered operators of a pre-existing mine, as i understand it ... no way could they open-pit anything, but they can go right ahead and resume an underground operation, it would probably have to be small, but that's the size of their reserves to date anyway, so that's good, lol ... their mine was until recently being run as a tourist attraction, as of last summer there were still ads for it on the net, they're right beside a scenic highway in the old gold country ... problems would come for them only if they hit big and wanted to scale up, imho |
