I think PEP is a good buy for the long term. I would wait until it falls below $35.

I would not be shocked if Phillip Morris or RJR nabisco tried to take them over. The tobacco companies will probably want to continue diversifying their operations.

PEP is cheaper on a P/E basis than KO. Sooner or later the valuation of PEP will rise closer to KO.
