"With a drive image program you can be back in business with a known good operating system in a matter of minutes."

which is precisely what i am doing right now on my other pc!

win2000 was hosed trying to install nsw2003... control panel & add/remove programs got all freaky and the symantec installer was coughing up error "-12's", whatever the heck they are.

i'm restoring the image on that machine at this moment. the powerquest warnings are quite unnerving... "you may not be able to boot, are you sure you want to continue?"

but i've seen that language before and it's not causing me massive grief at this point. <g>

when i get the os restored, i may try uninstalling nsw2002 and installing nsw2003 one more time... getting back on the horse, so to speak.

there is no good reason i can think of why this uninstall went south on me...did all the proper steps i've done dozens of times before... took no shortcuts. that's why a safety net like DriveImage is so necessary.

now that i mention "did all the proper steps", i seem to recall once having to do some odd things like *not* shutting down background apps in order to get nsw to install.

just rebooted and DI has me right back in biz...

:)
