Celery, Take a look at that link that was just posted. When you upgrade to 8, from any version, you should do a clean install and gradually add your third party stuff. Btw, I forgot to say about the PB, that the manual is very small but covers everything I need, remarkably clearly. The RAM was so easy to install, following the instructions in the manual. And every other issue was resolved by checking there. There's a peculiarity in the design of this Mac, in that there are spaces between the keys to let the machine breathe, but if anything spills in there, the machine's RAM and other elements would get wet. I was going to cover the keyboard with something to protect it, like saran wrap, but then it will not be able to breathe and will die of heat prostration. :-) Other than that, and the blue artifacts on the screen, all is well, and this is the most beautifully designed Mac I've had. And Apple support was very good with all issues that came up, like the blue artifacts and the fact this is a European model machine without a support ID number. They gave me a number without a hassle. Linda
