I grew up with a fuel oil stove, the oil guy would come twice a year and fill up our big tank. Great heat
but only in the room where the stove was. We had one stove in the living room and another in the
kitchen, some distance away. Plenty of blankets. Eventually we got electric blankets, luxury!

Where does your electricity come from, is there a power plant on the island?
