It could be. The raids, complete with armored vehicles and people kitted out for war and with Dr. Phil in tow, were certainly designed to be provocative. So it would be a given there would be a response. And the protest that triggered the confrontation apparently was the result of rumors. As you note, they do have a history of agent provocateurs, which is probably why they assume everyone else does the same.

So a Noodle-like conspiracy can be constructed even without using his dotz. But, if you get a bunch of angry people together and the police respond in typical American police style, violence is going to happen. Planned or not. And once it starts, it is difficult to stop it until it burns out. Bringing in the Guard, with Marines on standby, is just airdropping gasoline on the fire.

And they know it. But I don't think California has been demonized enough and Trump hasn't been deified enough, for this to be a slam dunk. Especially when it gets bloody, which seems to be the direction they are going.

I guess we will see.
