These are temporary adds; coupon passes are needed by next week, and
the dollar won't like them. It never does. Rates might not
like them either this time - they broke a very long-term
downtrend channel. -g- It looks to me the stock market will
not crash to save the bonds, rather the opposite - it rallies
every time rates retreat. So all of them pig markets must
crash together with the dollar, simultaneously. The thread
the dollar is hanging on is getting very, very thin. Let Ben
hilos fly, and that's gonna cut it. -ggg- Thank Al and Ben, the
printmasters for that. 5 years of losses for foreigners holding
these 3-5% yielding Fed and mortgage paper. Yes, it yields a
little, but the dollar is coming down a lot faster than these tiny
yields are compounding. They are gonna cut the thread it's
hanging on, and soon. I suspect they are doing it already.
The recent strength is likely related to the PPT transferring
some cash from London. -g- Thanks to high growth of packaging all
Euro-denominated bonds, the pound is high. Not that it's any better than the buck, maybe just a little bit better -g-
It's just that the notional value of Euro-denominated
derivative pyramid is now about the same than
dollar-denominated pyramid, so it had a huge growth. London
benefitted from all that. England's current account deficit
is second only to the US -g-
