the X86 chipmakers are getting to within a small factor of the highest clock speeds they're likely to reach for a while Intel about to release P4 at 1.3 GHz, going to 1.7GHz by end of year. Architecture reckoned to be good for 4GHz. The real question is will there be demand for such performance. Many of the appliances will not be able to compete with IA on the basis of performance and power efficiency. I think the MAJC chip will do well. Between P4, MAJC and Sony PS2, maybe RMBS is the way to play processing power, but RMBS is already highly valued. Persoanlly I am scratching my head to find good investments right now and am almost 100% cash. Maybe the market will find some direction later this week.
