Funny this happened today. I've just been talking with the analyst who wrote up a nice buy recommendation on PLMD for Josephthal a few years ago when the stock had tanked to $5. She was asking me to find out some information from some law professors I know about some actions Lee took recently. Whatever she wanted to find out (I told her to give me two weeks) isn't going to make either one of us feel better-informed after missing the boat today!

There's no question that the shorts are going to be in for a real punishment here if they try to get too cute. On the other hand, let's not forget how nuts PLMD trades right after news like this. While I believe the long term prospects are now much, much better for the company, I also think we could see a true squeeze, meaning the price could get way out of hand on the upside at almost ANY time during the next three months.

Some of you may hate the idea of trading, but I smell a windfall coming. Remember how the stock was a lay-up short into any rally immediately after the bad news hit? (with the exception of the last drop to 10, which was the bottom.) Now the ball is in the other court. I don't know what the big shorts (Rocker, Chanos, other Greenberg sources) can do right away. They're competing with every daytrader to buy this stock now, and the daytraders that are left (that haven't gone bust during the past year that is) are a pretty savvy bunch; many are ex-floor traders, present and ex-hedge fund ops, and semi-retired market makers. This will be a fun week watching, and perhaps even trading, this stock.
