Below is a 12/16/96 Reuters article: General Wireless signs contract with Lucent Reuters Story - December 16, 1996 12:37 DALLAS, Dec 16 (Reuter) - <General Wireless Inc> said on Monday that it signed a five-year $400 million contract with Lucent Technologies Inc for infrastructure equipment and construction of personal communication services networks. The contract includes $300 million in financing from Lucent to cover the initial construction and additional equipment to increase the capacity of the company's networks. Under the agreement, Lucent will engineer and build fully operational PCS networks, which will be based on code division multiple access, or CDMA, digital technology, in all of the company's markets except Chico, Calif. The markets include San Francisco, Sacramento, Atlanta and Miami metropolitan areas, General Wireless said.
