Style,

Your Novell experience sounds strikingly similar to my large position held over a year and averaging all the way down in NETM (NetManage). The smartest thing I ever did was finally taking my loss in early '97 and moving on. Taught me a couple of great lessons. (Until I bought a small position in IFMX)

1. Take the loss at the first sign of real trouble.

2. Don't get caught up in a story (NETM was the fastest growing co. in America in '95).

3. And probably the most important is Don't throw good money after bad!

All sounds so simple now. Oh yeah, a 4th lesson for me is stay the hell away from software companies. (I was a nanosecond away from buying ORCL @ $19, but ultimately my NETM & IFMX experience prevented me). That piece of **** is still costing me!
Live & Learn.
