Based on this it looks like it may barely nick Oman and then head up to Iran.

wunderground.com

Also, it looks like its down to a Category 1 by now...

Its surprising that it drops to Cat. 1 when it hits the coast of Oman. Either the water off Oman is relatively cool, or there are shear winds reducing the power of the storm, or the dry air of Oman is sucking out the storm's energy.

As for barely nicking Oman et al........you need to look at the larger bubbles, not the small one. In the US and I suspect internationally, when they are tracking a hurricane/cyclone, the different storm stations will evaluate the data from the storm and the local weather conditions, and then establish the route the storm will take based on their calculations. Those routes can vary considerably from one station to the next. Therefore, the larger bubble takes into consideration all the proposed route variations arrived at by the stations once the storm hits land. That means Oman may receive more than just a nick. Of course we are all routing for Iran to receive the brunt of the storm. In fact, Harris and shortie have started a SI stormwatch/hurricane party.
